Hola San Antonio! We here at PuroPinche know that Cinco de Mayo is a very important holiday, and it deserves to be celebrated in some ultra fun and memorable ways! 2017 came way to fast, so if you hadn’t even thought up your Cinco de Mayo plans – Don’t worry, we got you. Check out the links below for some Cinco de Mayo approved plans!

First off, we have Cinco de Mayo at the Historic Market Square! This classic event is FREE AF, plus it’s three days so you get some extra celebration time! Plus, there will be live entertainment by Palacio Brothers, Ruben V, Patsy Torres and Viella!

Also if you think Cinco de Mayo is Mexican Independence Day, let’s set you straight- it’s not! Celebrate the day of the Battle of Puebla with a NOT Independence Day Pachanga at the famously delicious El Mirador! There will be entertainment, vendors and drinks from 5p-11p! RSVP!

And…if you need to brush up on the history after finding out Cinco de Mayo isn’t Mexican Independence Day, check out VIVA Mezcal from 6:30p-8:30p! This documentary is all about the traditional mezcals of Mexico, and it’s pretty darn interesting.

Of course, you can always chill out after at Sam’s Burger Joint Music Hall and listen to Blackbird Sing LIVE from 8p-12a! This is also the 1 year anniversary of the release of CINCO ON CINCO DE MAYO! WHOOOOA!

But, if you think the 5th of May is more like Stinko de Mayo, head over to the Blind Tiger Comedy club ready for some laughs! Comedian Larry Garza is also celebrating a unique anniversary, it has been his first year with cancer and he is raising funds to benefit the Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) and There and Back Again – River’s Journey. Be awesome with Larry from 8p-11:30p.

For the music lovers, experience CINCO CONCIERTOS at Rosedale Park from 5p-midnight! Get your tickets asap!

OR BAILE with Bombasta at The Bang Bang Bar from 9p-2a! There will be FIESTA IN A CUP MICHELADAS – what’s that? UMMM it’s a Michelada garnished with a Turkey Leg, Chicken on a stick, and ELOTE w/ Flaming Hot Cheeto crumbles!!!

Maybe you’re into art with a twist? Well, Tucker’s Kozy Korner is hosting The Soul Sport First Friday Dance Party! Experience live art painting, boogie music and new friends from 9p-2a!

You can even head over to The Aztec Theatre from 9p-11p and see La Oreja de Van Gogh en concierto!

After that hit up The Squeezebox for La Inedita, Los De Esta Noche and The Inigenauts ! La Inedita is from Peru! I bet you have never celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a Peruvian before!

OK OK Ok, and if you would rather eat/drink instead of get wild, we understand and we are here to help!

If you don’t want the traditional Mexican foods today, Sushi Zushi is having some specials from 11a-11p!

Maybe you had a rough week and want to be casual? Come to Nacho Ordinary Cinco de Mayo at Brews Brothers for food trucks, music, Budlight and Modelo! The fun starts at 2p.

Just want to drink? Brass Monkey is hosting ! Disco/80’s attire is encouraged because it is also Disco vs. 80’s night! NO COVER from 10p-2a!

BUT YOU HAVE TO TRY A NACHO BAR! Celebrate the day at Blue Box from 4p-2a and have some nachos from the nacho bar and margaritas for CINCO dollars!

If you’re a diehard Texas then hit up Texas Hofbrau at the Rim anytime from 11a-1a for some tequila and live music by Brent Michael Wood!
