Produced by the organizers of Austin’s Pachanga Latino Music Festival, this year’s celebration of Latin music will host established acts and rising stars including the Grammy-nominated musician Ana Tijoux and Depeche Mode cover band DMK, a family trio from Colombia that has become a viral YouTube sensation. This marks DMK’s first performance in the United States.

“This year, our lineup is filled with Latin artists from all over the world including Chile, Argentina, Texas, Mexico and Colombia, reflecting Pearl’s commitment and dedication to Latin American arts and culture that is so prevalent in the San Antonio community,” says Elizabeth Fauerso, Chief Marketing Officer at Pearl. “Pearl is happy to be home to such an eclectic music series that lets the people of San Antonio, and beyond, enjoy this free celebration.”

Échale! Latino Music Estyles kicks off on Sunday, March 16, at 5:00pm with Ana TijouxFederico Aubele and Natalia Clavier. Grammy nominated Ana Tijoux is a French-Chilean musician who established her career in Latin America as the female MC of hip-hop group Makiza during the 1990s. Singer-songwriter Federico Aubele has played the Austin City Limits Music Festival and his music has been featured in TV Series Alias and the movie The Take in 2007. Natalia Clavier, a traveling singer and musician, originally from Buenos Aires, has a dark undertone in her music that intertwines beautifully with her lively vocals.

Brown Sabbath and Bombasta will take over the stage on Friday, April 4. As the alter ego to Austin-based 8-piece band Brownout, Brown Sabbath is a unique tribute to heavy metal “godfathers” Black Sabbath. Bombasta is a San Antonio-based post-modern musical collective that melds various genres including cumbia, hip hop, reggae, salsa, Latino funk and more, creating a signature sound that transcends any one genre.

Échale! spring series closes with Sonido San Francisco, Chicha Libre and headliner DMK on Friday, May 9 at 7:00pm. Chicha Libre is a Brooklyn-based band that creates mix-up covers of forgotten Chicha classic songs with French-tinged originals and reinterpretations of 70s pop classics. Based in Xonacatlan, Mexico, Sonido San Francisco combines the subtleness of cumbia and Colombian fold, and the power behind Mexican cumbia and urban electronic music.  DMK, a Depeche Mode cover band and YouTube sensation from Bogota, Colombia, will play for the first time in the United States at the last Échale series. The band, consisting of a father and his two adorable children, has become a viral sensation with nearly four million YouTube views and are known for their signature covers of the revered electronic English band.

The Pearl Park amphitheater seats roughly 1,000 and Pearl invites latecomers to bring law chairs and blankets if seating is scarce. Pearl is located 300 Pearl Parkway in San Antonio, Texas. Parking will be available onsite and at the Kohler garage.
