The Tricentennial Commission, the City of San Antonio and Bexar County are proud to host the 2017 New Year’s Eve Celebration, the kick-off of San Antonio’s 300th birthday celebration. This free concert will take place in Hemisfair, and will be open to the public. San Antonio’s biggest birthday is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and everyone is included.

Want to bring the kids? No problem. Starting at 4 pm, families will enjoy free admission to the festival grounds that will feature interactive art, games, music and live theatrical performances.

This event is open to the public and general admission is free. VIP tickets are available for purchase.

Festival ends at the conclusion of the midnight fireworks spectacular

• A variety of food and beverage vendors will be located along Alamo Street starting at 4 pm

In coordination with the Center City Development& Operations Department (CCDO), San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) and key downtown stakeholders, the Tricentennial Commission offers the following traffic and security information and encourages event-goers to plan ahead to ensure a safe experience for attendees, spectators, vendors and first responders.

• This year’s New Year’s Eve footprint is distinct in that it’s fully gated with a full security screening and bag checks in place. This enhancement will elevate the guest experience and festival safety.
• No weapons, fireworks, bicycles, chairs, ice chests/coolers, oversized bags, glass containers, drones, animals (other than service animals), outside food/beverages/alcohol or smoking will be allowed inside the event.
• Clear bags are encouraged at this event. Individuals carrying a clear bag will be granted expedited access inside the event grounds.
• Four event entrances are located at East Market Street, Alamo & Market, Alamo & Nueva, and Nueva St .
• For the safety of all guests, all patrons and carry items are subject to inspection.

• VIA Park & Ride special event service will be available to the New Year’s Eve event.
o Service will be provided from the following three locations:
▪ Crossroads Mall Park & Ride, 151 Crossroads Blvd
▪ Madla Park & Ride, 1584 Cantrell
▪ AT&T Center Park & Ride
o The Park & Ride drop-off and pick-up location will be near the Celebrate 300 event at the Robert Thompson Transit Center
o Service begins at 3:30 p.m. Monday, 12/31. The last bus leaves the pickup zone at 1:30 am on Jan. 1, 2018 from the Thompson Center.
o The special event fare is $5 round-trip for adults (two one-way trips of $2.50 each).
o A discount fare of $2.50 round-trip (two one-way trips of $1.25 each) is available for children ages 5-11 as well as senior citizens 62 years and older, Medicare recipients, persons with disabilities and students with a valid VIA ID.
o Accommodations will be made for elderly individuals and for those with limited mobility at VIA Park & Ride locations and at the Thompson Transit Center. VIA Shuttles will be available to transport individuals with mobility limitations

• Ride Share drop-off areas include:
o Lot on Commerce/IH-37 near the Convention Center
o Alamo Plaza on Houston by the Emily Morgan Hotel

o Commerce Street between Bowie and Alamo
o Alamo Plaza on Blum near the Menger Hotel
• Bike Valet
o Located on Alamo Street between Cesar Chavez and Nueva

• Public transportation is encouraged as there will be limited parking available downtown
• A full list of City-owned garages and lots is available at www.sanantonio.gov/CCDO/parking/parkingmap. Note that a $5 event rate will be in place on Dec. 31 for all City-owned parking.
• Several privately owned lots and garages will be available for a fee. Note that the City of San Antonio or Tricentennial Commission does not control these fees.
• Free parking is available at the Alamodome

• Two major street closures will take place on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 to Monday, Jan. 1, 2018:
o Alamo from Cesar Chavez to Market from 6 a.m. Sunday-7 a.m. Monday
o Market from Presa to Bowie from 3 p.m. Sunday-2 a.m. Monday
o There will be a temporary closure of a portion of the southbound access road to IH-37 near Cesar Chavez and a portion of Cesar Chavez between 11:30 pm and 12:45 am for fireworks fall out

• Ticketed, front row experience at East stage for $150/ticket
• Tickets for the enhanced experience may be purchased here.
• Tended, red carpet experience with comfort lounge seating includes savory food all night, 3 beverage tickets per person, a champagne toast, a Tricentennial commemorative cup and commemorative SA300 glasses
• Private restroom will be available for ticketed guests
