Before Techno, before House Music, before Studio 54, there was David Mancuso and The Loft! Founded in the mid-1970s in New York City, David’s famous “Loft Parties” hosted some of the cities greatest ambassadors of dance culture.

As young dancers and enthuesiasts eager to hear The Loft’s magnificant sound system and ecclectic musical selections, people like Larry Levan, Nicky Siano, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, and Francois Kevorkian regularly attened The Loft. This is the home Disco, Techno, and House music.

Known for extensive and highly adventurous music sets, Mancuso set himself apart by truly exploring the far reaches of the dance floor experience. It was not out of the ordinary to hear Rock music like Led Zepplin or West African Saxophonist, Manu Dibango next to the experimental electronic sounds of Kraftwerk.

David Mancuso was a pioneer.

This Friday we pay tribute to one of the greatest legends of Dance Culture — David Mancuso. Join us for an evening of music and dance.
