In collaboration with DreamWeek 2017 the Olaju Art Group is organizing an intimate event featuring exclusive portraits captured by Juliana Kasumu over the past four years. Images on display will highlight the essence of Kasumu’s artistic mission and engage viewers with ideas concerning the nuances of black female identities.

Join us as we take over the S.M.A.R.T. projectspace gallery during the Second Saturday Art Walk. Throughout the night, Kasumu will receive special invited guests to sit for a new series of portraits which pay homage to notable black women in the San Antonio community. These photoshoot sessions will be free and open to the public allowing for audience members to better understand her unique process pertaining to portraitures.
