Join Artist Gabriel Martinez and Poet Ronnie Yates at Taco Friday for a brief discussion of the representation of the desert in historical, biblical, and poetic imagery on Friday, August 28.

Guest veteran, James Radcliffe, will simultaneously perform again in Wafaa Bilal’s exhibition space.

Ronnie Yates studied at the University of Houston, Harvard Divinity School, and received his MFA from New York University. His poems have appeared in Ploughshares, POOL, Colorado Review. Yates was a finalist for the 2012 Emily Dickinson First Book Award (offered by the Poetry Foundation and Graywolf Press). He has been awarded residencies at the Atlantic Center for the Arts and the Jentel Artist Residency Program. He currently teaches in the IART program at the University of Houston/Mitchell Center for the Arts.
