“THE WORKS: AN EXHIBITION OF ARTIST AND DESIGNER DAVID PECHE”

August 20, 2015 to December 4, 2015

Opening Meet the Artist Reception: September 10th 4p.m. to 6p.m.4th Floor Moody Learning Center, San Antonio College

David Peche is an artist and designer living and working in San Antonio, Texas. As a child in the 70’s and 80’s, he grew up in his father’s commercial art studio where he not only had the run of the place to experiment with art but he learned the technical aspects of the advertising art field. He now owns his own successful graphics company in addition to co-founding the popular and hip Art At the Jalapeno Arts, an organization that hosts art exhibitions in San Antonio. His devotion to mentoring other artists has given him a large following.

David Peche (dj-illustrator) will present his colorful graphics and paintings that are full of local flavor in a solo exhibition. “I use a lot of Fiesta/Mexican colors, piñata pastels mixed with metallics.” Peche says. The viewer is instantly drawn into the details of his work making them realize that something is just not one color but a diverse spectrum of hues. Whether it is a Cabrito or a Beetle that he illustrates, it’s far out eye popping colorful. It can be hard to differentiate between his fine art and his graphic art since they cross over quite well. You can find his work on automobiles to skateboards as well as on wood and digital prints.

Peche has exhibited his artwork at The Museo Alameda (the first formal Smithsonian affiliate outside of Washington D.C.), The Blue Star Arts Complex, The Art Center of Corpus Christi and The High Wire Contemporary Art Gallery to just name a few. He attended San Antonio College Department of Visual Art and Design in the 1990’s. He was recently interviewed on inTV’s Artist Palette hosted by

Artist/curator Joan Fabian. https://vimeo.com/134132514

The exhibition is free and open to the public. Hours are 8:00a.m. – 8:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday 9:30a.m. to 5p.m.
