Andrew Weissman’s newest venture, Moshe’s Golden Falafel is now open for lunch at 3910 McCullough.

The concept is simple: pick a pita or a plate (we went for a plate for visit number one) then choose your falafel of either classic green or spicy red, then add your sides of hummus, tabbouleh, pickles, labneh (the only non-Vegan item), babaganoush, Isralei salad, roasted red peppers, okra and more. Top your falafel with a variety of spicy and not-so-spicy sauces and tahini. The falafel itself was crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside. More sides to choose from are fried eggplant, fries and fried onions. Pick your drink from a bucket of cold sodas, Topo Chico, beer or grab a glass of regular or hibiscus mint tea or brown sugar lemonade.

The interior was chic with high, wooden tables and yellow stools for seating and decorations were simple yet colorful with white orchids on table tops and prints of food colors on the walls. Weissman and his wife were on hand for opening day and everyone was friendly and ready to serve up great food! I for one can’t wait to go back and try more! Be sure to get there early as a line was forming at noon but still moving fairly quickly.
