Welcome to Wild Goji!
Earlier this week I was invited to the media preview night at Wild Goji, located at 7115 Blanco Rd, Ste 110 (at Loop 410). I am really glad I went! The service was great and the food was even better. I did not get to see menu prices as everything was complimentary but I can imagine that everything is a great value.
We were treated to smooth disco and Motown as we walked in from San Antonio DJ Ben Luhrmann. There was a brief wine/champagne reception and then we were seated at a family-style table for dinner. The decor of the restaurant is Asian-inspired with a modern vibe.
We tried a lot of apps! Started off with fried calamari, then as we were seated we were brought Fuji Wontons topped with green apple garnish, Mama Zen’s handmade pork dumplings, and Wild Bao (pork filled steamed buns).
Then came the sushi. It was beautifully plated and tasted great too. The Rainbow Roll and the Texas Gulf Roll in the photos below are 8 pieces and filling.
I love that all the servings at Wild Goji are shareable. The entrees were also big enough for at least two people. We tried Chef Zen’s Chicken which is similar to sesame chicken. I ordered the biggest bowl of ramen I’ve seen in awhile and it was muy yummy! Plus the bowl and ladle were super cute.
Even if you’re not a sweets person, you should definitely try the Tempura Ice Cream. I guess this might be like American Fried Ice Cream but I’ve never had that so I can only imagine. Warm and crispy tempura battered surrounded by cold Vanilla ice cream and a light chocolate drizzle, all topped with a cherry on top.
Make sure and stop by to see Chef Nick, Stephanie, and their family and staff and tell them Puro Pinche sent you! Thank you to Sammis & Ochoa for the invite!
